I hired a cleaning lady

I hired a local gal, cleaning lady before Christmas. She’s very devout and is blessing me a lot and thanking Jesus, which can’t hurt, right? Right?! Though it freaks me out a little bit. She’s not the greatest at cleaning, but she’s better than I am and she seems to really enjoy cleaning which I don’t. Plus it frees me up to work guilt-free, and allows me to do important things, like go to the gym. :) Today she came and cleaned the house again.

Kev was upstairs (he’s recovering from surgery earlier this week), so she stayed downstairs. Midday, I ran some errands and when I returned, she was gone. No note, nothing. She called later and said that she had left to pick up her son. Uhm, okay.

Kev and I weren’t sure we were going to keep her.

Later, Kev and I were discussing what to have for dinner which has turned into a daily hour-long discussion that usually starts big — with us making something from scratch, but pretty quickly winnows down to what’s easiest or what we have leftover. We were about 20 minutes into the discussion when there was a knock on the door. The cleaning lady, came for her money, but more importantly, she brought us a big, HOT plate of homemade Flautas with an extra Tupperware of homemade hot sauce!

Now, we totally LOVE HER!
