It’s a sheet of card stock/vellum bristol that has been covered first by a thin layer of chalk, then by a layer of enamel, usually black. The design is scratched into the surface, generally a white pattern into the black surface. I’ll post an image. This is completely different but entirely possible with scratchboard - where you’d ink your own colors onto the page then scrape away that which was not needed. It’s also exceedingly well done - though it looks more like an etching or an aquatint. Anyway, I want it on my dash :)
